Analog Discovery 2 PYDWF Issues with parallel instruments

Is there any way to run the digitalout instrument with a custom pattern without interrupting the waveform generator and the oscilloscope capture processes? It seems no matter my approach, there will be a null period on the waveform output when I use the digitalout instrument, and even though I can detect a trigger from the oscilloscope I cannot recover valid data from it. Specifically after configuring the oscilloscope to wait for a trigger, then outputting a custom digitalout pattern which causes the trigger, trying to then retrieve data from the oscilloscope is not successful. The data it returns is incomplete and seemingly not form the actual trigger event.

 

Theoretically, should I be able to use these instruments in parallel like this based on the underlying SDK?

Yes, all the instruments (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, pattern generator, and each awg channel) operate independently in parallel in the device FPGA. These can be synchronized with internal or external triggers, and awg channels can be locked to work synchronized.
