Mavitaka
Hi, I hope that you all are doing well. I would like to ask if it is possible to output 100Mhz clock from Digital Discovery or not? Thank you in advance for your reply. Best regards.
0 attila
Hi @Mavitaka The highest output frequency with Digital Discovery is 50 MHz, half of the default 100 MHz system clock which is adjustable. Mavitaka
0 Mavitaka
Hi attila, Thank you for your answer. If I use extenal clock for the ADC and take digital data to DAQ, do I need to sync the clock between ADC and DAQ? Because when I use the 50Mhz clock from Digital Discovery to supply for the ADC. Everything is fine. However when I use extenal 100Mhz clock for the ADC and I show some errors like this. Is it because the clock is not stable or because that I have not synchonized the clock between ADC and DAQ? Thank you in advance for your reply. Best regards. P/s: I use ADC https://www.analog.com/en/design-center/evaluation-hardware-and-software/evaluation-boards-kits/dc782a-t.html Clock https://www.mikroe.com/clock-gen-click Bit 15 is the clock signal. 0 attila
Hi @Mavitaka The sampling of data lines should be performed on the same clock that the ADC receives, with the required phase to satisfy setup and hold. If you are using Digital Discovery Sync capture mode you could try using falling edge instead of the rising edge, to have 180* shift. With normal capture mode sample at least at 400MHz and interpret the data according the clock, like: Mavitaka
0 Mavitaka
Hi @attila, Thank you so much for your advice. The system runs very well with your solution. I would like to ask how I can implement the interpret the data according the clock with the normal capture mode using WaveForms SDK? Which function should I use? Thank you in advance for your reply. 0 attila
Hi @Mavitaka The interpreter is available in the WaveForms application. For custom app/script interpreter a loop can be used, looking for rising edge of the respective clock bit of the sample and storing masked value of the next sample, for 400MHz rate to have 2.5ns delay.
