DT9804 undetected by QuickDAQ

Question

Posted

Hi,

I've read some forum topics on this, but my case seems different.

All the following refers to a DataAcqOMNI_V7.8.9 installation.

I have a working DT9804, detected by OpenLayers Control Panel (windows 7).

The legacy QuickDAQ (C:\Program Files (x86)\Data Translation\Win32) correctly reads and writes to the device.

The 3.7.049 QuickDaq does not detects the Openlayer device.

Following other forum anwers I noticed that in C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\Data Translation\QuickDAQ\Config

there is NO QuickDAQConfiguration.xml.

I've reinstalled all the sw stack, no change.

Any hint?

Thanks,

Francesco

Hello @fmiss.

Is your intent to continue using the DT9804 with a Windows 7 system?  Were you having an issue which prompted the update for QuickDAQ?  We recommend upgrading to a newer Windows OS release if possible.

Please confirm that the legacy application is not running when you launch QuickDAQ.

If you continue to have an issue, please provide additional information regarding host system specifications, Windows OS version, DT Open Layers version, etc.  Screen captures are always helpful.

Fausto

Hello @Fausto,

thanks for the reply.

Yes, I'm willing to continue using the DT9804 with a Windows 7 system.

Host system specs:Intel Core i7 3770 @ 3.40GHz, 16GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 665MHz

OS: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit SP1

Please find attached as many screenshots I figured out to be useful. Regarding DT Open Layers version, is there a way to get this info aside from looking at the dll version?

BTW,  I confirm that the legacy application is not running when I launch QuickDAQ 3.7.049.

Thanks,

Francesco

Hello @fmiss.

You indicated using a DT9804, but your screen captures show a DT9854.  While the DT9804 is supported in QuickDAQ, the DT9854 is not.  QuickDAQ supports Data Translation devices with an analog input subsystem, which the DT9854 does not have.

Your software options for using the DT9854 are (1) using DT Open Layers API with Microsoft Visual Studio, (2) DASYLab, and (3) LabVIEW using DT LV-Link3.

DT OMNI (Open Layers) software:  https://digilent.com/reference/software/openlayers/start

DASYLab:  https://digilent.com/reference/software/dasylab/start

DT LV-Link3:  https://digilent.com/reference/software/lv-link/start

Fausto

Hello @fausto

typos....

Anyway, I was confused by the fact that the legacy QuickDAQ can read and write to the DT9854.

Thanks,

Francesco
