E-DIO24 does not respond to ping

Question

I have configured a new E-DIO24 to static IP from a laptop with a crossover cable and verified that it communicates there at the the new IP address. However connected to the network switch it shows that it has carrier but it does not respond to ping. It's mac address does not show up in the arp list. Any suggestions?

Hello @WEP.

Perform a factory reset to the E-DIO24, while still connected to the network switch with a straight through network cable, instead of the crossover cable.  Verify that the local network has DHCP enabled.  Using a PC that's also connected to the network switch, run MCC's InstaCal utility to detect the device.  Once in InstaCal, click on the 'Add Board' icon to view the 'Board Selection List' window.  Next, select the 'ENET' tab.  With the 'Detection type' set to 'Automatic', does your E-DIO24 appear in the list?  If not, press the 'Refresh' button.  Once the device is detected, click the 'Add' button.

With the device added to the Ethernet list, in InstaCal, double click on the device to open the Board Configuration window.  Select the 'Network Settings' tab to view the MAC address and IP address.
