MCC172 Operating Temperature Range

What should I expect when operating the MCC172s just above their operating temperature of 55C for extended periods of time? Currently for our design that uses the MCC172 boards sit at about 56C when our unit is in 40C ambient environment. We tested the unit for 8 hours and didn’t see any issues occur with the boards.

The effects of one degree C outside of hardware specifications may not be noticeable.  To better understand if you should incorporate some type of cooling for your Raspberry Pi configuration, consider documenting test results at both 25 deg C and 40 deg C ambient environments, to use as baselines.
