Concerning current consumption at startup of DT9836-12-2-OEM

Fukuda

Question

DT9836-12-2-OEM power consumption exceeds 2A, Is this according to the specification. All 5 pcs of these we bought recently are the same. The spec sheet has the following:

Power, +5V±5% @ 2A Max.

Checking our records when we bought the DT9836-12-2-OEM two years ago, it didn't exceed 2A. What is the difference between then and now?

Hello @Fukuda.

No design changes between then and now.  Is the DT9836-12-2-OEM used for the same application with the same equipment (including power supply)?  What happened to prompt this inquiry?  If you swap out the new board with an older board, does the older board work?  What are the serial numbers for your older and newer boards?

Regards,

Fausto

Thank you for your reply that the specification will not be changed.

The reason for this inquiry is that if the product we purchased this time does not meet its specifications, we have to collect this DT9836-12-2-OEM or AC adapter from the customer and replace it with another one. To be precise, our customer pointed this out to us. I am a member of MCC's Japanese distributor and sell it in Japan. DT9836-12-2-OEM is used for the same application. Not sure if the power supply is the same. I will check the details from now on.
