Isolators

Question

We have a measurement computing A/D (USB-1616HS-BNC) hooked up to a computer that also has an instrumented treadmill hooked up to it. When we enable the instrumented treadmill, we see voltage spikes in our analog out data. I suspect we may need an isolator. I saw in the technical manual recommendations for ISO-RACK and ISO 5B-series. What are the differences and do you think one of these products would solve our problem?

Hello @jcaccese.

Do you see voltage spikes throughout the acquisition or only at the start?

Is your instrumented treadmill powered by the same circuit as the USB-1616HS-BNC?

MCC no longer sells the ISO-RACKs nor the 5B modules.  Reach out to Dataforth for the 5B modules.

Regards,

Fausto
