MCC USB-1604HS DIO control with MATLAB

Easha

Question

Hi,

We are currently evaluating the MCC USB-1604 HS device provided to us by an Indian representative, and we are facing some challenges. We kindly request your assistance in resolving these issues.

Our requirement involves controlling an analog system using a 16-bit digital word through a DIO, while simultaneously sampling four outputs from the analog system at a rate of 1-2 Msps using a DAQ. We have been able to successfully obtain sampled data from the analog system using the data acquisition toolbox in MATLAB with the USB-1604 HS.

However, we are encountering difficulties in writing a 16-bit output to the DIO. Since the write operation for the 16-bit DIO and the read operation for the DAQ are interdependent, we are seeking a solution that allows us to control both operations with a single tool, such as MATLAB.

We would appreciate any guidance or instructions on how to initialize the USB-1604 HS device to write Digital outputs with MATLAB, as well as any other suggestions or recommendations to enable us to achieve our desired functionality.

Thank you for your assistance in advance.

Hello @Easha.

MCC's digital I/O subsystem is not supported through the Data Acquisition Toolbox™ Support Package for Measurement Computing™ Hardware, in MATLAB.

Consider using DASYLab, LabVIEW or developing a custom application with MCC's Universal Library API.
