cmod-a7-35T not working after power-off and on sequence

Question

Hi all,

I just managed to make the blink led project to work.

If I unplug the board from the host usb port and then plug it again the board is not working and I have to reprogram the device again to work.

What is the reasoning for this?

Shall I add a reset input utilizing one of the on-board buttons or it is sth else that is happening?

Which pin would be most appropriate for reseting the device?

Thank you.

Hello,

I believe this is normal behavior, to make it retain the program you must program the Quad SPI Flash chip. The flash chip will retain the program and will automatically reprogram the FPGA. In vivado 2022.1, under Open Hardware Manager there is a item called Add Configuration Memory Device. Use it to add the flash chip found on the Cmod a7 - to find out more look in Reference Manual in the section name Quad SPI Flash.

Best regards,
John
