Abdelhamed
Hello Everyone, In my company, we use Digilent FPGA in one of our products, the final product is then shipped to our customers. In order to use our program, we developed software. In this software, I want to include the Adept software and djtgcfg.exe from the Adept utilities into the installation media. So our customers can easily update the FPGA firmware by calling the djtgcfg.exe from the command line. As far as I understood, from the license below / point 8, we should be able to get permission to include the adept software in our software as it is used with Digilent hardware. We tried to send an email to support@digilentinc.com, but no response so far. I was advised after calling the Digilent office in Europe to post here. So did anyone have a similar problem? or could anyone from the moderators connect me with the responsible person? JColvin
Hi @Abdelhamed, I (as well the other Digilent contact) have reached out to get confirmation on whether or not you are able to distribute Adept with your end product. My unofficial instinct is that this would be fine for you to do, but I am waiting to hear back so I can provide a more definitive answer. Thanks, JColvin
Abdelhamed
Hi @JColvin, Thanks for your reply, I have a good feeling it will work. Just in case, how can I share my email with you? so I can get the confirmation officially. I tried to send you a message but I am not allowed to do so. Can you send me a message and I reply to it or should we do it in another way? please let me know what do you think Best regards, Abdo Edited June 12, 2022 by Abdelhamed
JColvin
Hello @Abdelhamed, I am still waiting to hear for some official confirmation from the appropriate people at Digilent, but I will send you a message. Thanks, JColvin
JColvin
Hi @Abdelhamed, Posting an update here since it will apply other readers of this thread as well. After some discussion, Digilent has adjusted the EULA for the Adept software so that end users, such as yourself, no longer need request specific permission to redistribute the software. I'm not certain if the software itself (System, Runtime, and Utilities) have had a new build created with the updated EULA, but the new one is freely available on the Adept Resource Center here: https://digilent.com/reference/software/adept/start#additional_resources. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, JColvin
