Build Linux kernel from scratch for Zedboard

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I can build the u-boot.elf and Zynq Linux kernel (zImage) using the Xilinx and Digilent git repositories (see below). Unfortunately, the Zedboard doesn't boot. The only thing that works is the very old (2012) version zImage.

Xilinx/Linux:

https://github.com/Xilinx/linux-xlnx.git

Digilent/Linux:

Release v3.3.0-digilent-12.07-zed-beta · Digilent/linux-digilent · GitHub

I followed the procedure on Xilinx Confluence:

Xilinx Open Source Linux - Xilinx Wiki - Confluence (atlassian.net)

and the Zedboard OOB design 14.1 README file (see attached)

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? I've hit a brick wall.

Thanks.
