Analog Discovery 2 - Impedance Analyzer admittance Y axis scaling

longboard

Question

Hello,

I am trying to measure the conductance & susceptance of a piezo transducer using my Analog Discovery 2 module. Below are the conductance & susceptance plots from the transducer's datasheet. I have attempted to recreate these measurements and pasted the results below as well. There are definitely some similarities in the measured admittance v.s. the admittance shown in the datasheet. But I noticed that the peak conductance measured by the Analog Discovery 2 is around 50mS, whereas in the part's datasheet the peak conductance appears to be around 5mS. So I am trying to understand what could account for the factor of 10? I have experimented with several measurement configurations on the Analog Discovery 2 module but I have not been able to resolve the issue.

I appreciate any suggestions

The discrepancy may actually be caused by differing test conditions between how the admittance curves were measured. I believe the datasheet measures admittance with the transducer submerged in water whereas I attempted to measure it in air. I'll try to measure admittance curves with the transducer in water and see how those results compare.
