Xilinx external HDF and Yocto core-image-minimal

I followed the Xilinx site on how to import external HDF from here: https://xilinx-wiki.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/A/pages/59605045/Adding+an+HDF+to+a+Xilinx+Yocto+Layer

Everything builds fine if i put the HDF properties in my build/conf/local.conf.

Now that i created my own recipe - per the same link - I am unable to build.

Any help would be appreciated.
