Swansonic
Hello. We are assembling a product that uses the JTAG SMT2 module. The datasheet indicates that the module can be reflowed onto another PCB. Is there a limit to how many passes through a reflow oven the device can handle without damage? We would like to process the module on the first side of the PCB and then add parts on the opposite side of the PCB and reflow the assembly a second time. Second, I know this module was built using water soluble flux and can be washed with water. Can it washed with a solvent based cleaning fluid? Thank you for your help! JColvin
Hi @Swansonic, I apologize for the delay; I have asked the appropriate contacts here at Digilent for the information that you have requested. Thank you, JColvin
JColvin
Hi @Swansonic, I confirmed that the module can be reflowed twice. I also learned that the JTAG SMT2 can be safely washed with a solvent cleaning fluid, you will just have to be careful to keep it away from glass to prevent cracks as illustrated in the pictures below. Thanks, JColvin
