The documentation for the new Analog Discovery 3 highlights the possibility of an oscilloscope with lock-in amplifier, "Software channels, which are calculated by the WaveForms software on the host computer, can also be added as visible channels to the viewing plot. These software channels and filters include straightforward arithmetic operations such as calculating the total amount of power consumed by a system, Butterworth and Chebyshev IIR filters for signal processing, Lock-in amplifiers to extract a signal from surrounding noise, and scriptable math functions." Nevertheless, no documentation is available on how to do this or how this signal might be used for a PID controller. Might such information be made available?
