Hi,Digilent!
I have a damaged AD2 that cannot output the power. When I set it to 5V output, I can only measure about 0.16V. May I ask which device may have a problem. I also have an AD2 that can be used normally, so I can compare the test, please tell me about the device that might occur. Thank you very much.

I encountered similar problems before, and I judged that the IC3 was broken, and it was successfully repaired after dismantling.

Thank you very much. I detected that 3V3 is abnormal, 5V, +12V, -12V is normal, and the other 3.3V is normal. Do you have a schematic for this part?

Hi,
The 15V power supply part of my ADS is faulty, and the power light is not on after power-on. I need the schematic diagram of the 15V part, but I don't have the schematic diagram of ADS on the official website. Where can I find the schematic diagram of Analog Discovery Studio?

NetFpga SUME
in FPGA
On 7/29/2023 at 2:17 AM, JColvin said:Hi @Leo_W,
I believe you contacted Digilent via your distributor which we separately responded to earlier today, but I would like to ask how you resolved the shorting out issue so that way Digilent can better understand what happened and how we might help other SUME users in the future.
In terms of testing the SUME, you should be able run the Acceptance Test Project that is developed and maintained by the NetFPGA SUME group: https://github.com/NetFPGA/NetFPGA-SUME-public/wiki/Acceptance-Test-Project.
Though it also sounds like from "I wrote a key lighting program to test, FPGA chip is normal.", that you have already confirmed the SUME can be configured and is working. Is my understanding correct?
I have asked about the Production Test and will let you know when I learn more.
With regards to responding, we can continue troubleshooting either here or through the distributor, though I would ask that only one channel is picked in order to help streamline the flow of information.
Thanks,
JColvinBecause the fan of the ATX power supply stopped when the power was powered on, I judged that it was the short circuit of the power supply part, so I replaced the chip one by one through the elimination method, and finally found that Q27 and Q28 were faulty.

I was provided the .bit file for the SUME production test (we could not readily find the .bin), which I have attached to this post.
Thanks,

NetFpga SUME
in FPGA
I had a piece of SUME that shorted out and couldn't start, and now it's finally fixed and can be switched on. Power on as described in the WIKI, the Power LED (LD10) and DONE LED (LD4) light up immediately. But the UART interface does not have any information printed out. This program seems to be built in and it is not known how to get SUME to re-run this program.
I wrote a key lighting program to test, FPGA chip is normal. Please tell me where I can download the program?
Thanks!

Hi,
I have an AD2 in my hand, and I need to use the API to realize the function shown in the figure below.
Which API can I use?

Hi @attila
After replacing the IC3, it can be used normally. Great, thank you very much!

Hi @attila
I tested it and found that the two 3V3s didn't seem to be connected together.
I will try to replace IC3 first to see if it can be repaired. The IC3 did burn out when tested.

After an ADS is powered on, the power light is normally on, but it cannot be recognized by the computer. After testing, the AD2 part can be used normally, and the usb port lacks 5V input. C23 measured down to 0V, the normal should be 5V, the usb port pin is also 0V. R22 measured only 2.07V, the normal is 3.3V, the device voltage around IC6 is abnormal, IC7 can only measure 2.07. Don't know where the 3.3V comes from?
And my IC3 is unusually hot, I suspect that the chip is short-circuited and burned out, but I lack the schematic, do not know the IC3 model? -

NetFpga SUME
in FPGA
2 hours ago, zygot said:Well, my first question is "What kind of external Power Supply are you using"? If it's a bench supply is the current output being limited? I know is sounds silly but I've got to ask. (been there done that...)
No, I'm using a standard ATX power supply. When I powered on the board, the fan of the power supply stopped.

NetFpga SUME
in FPGA
Hi digilent,
There is one SUME board on my side that cannot be powered on. After plugging in the external power supply, the fan of the external power supply will stop and the output will turn to 0V, so I suspect that it is the grounding of the output that causes the automatic protection of the power supply.
I tried very hard to fix it because it was expensive. Any good suggestions? According to the schematic, there are more than 30 12V electricity consumption, or it may be other problems. My idea is to disassemble 7 small package power chips (IC42, etc.) and 2 large package power chips (IC34 IC42) by elimination.
Do you have any suggestions? Any suggestion will do, thank you very much!

Nexys4 DDR
in FPGA
Hi Digilent,
I have an N4 board that is not recognized and will burn into the program normally using HS2 connection. Therefore, I judge that FT2232 is damaged and FTDI can be identified after replacement. However, Vivado reports no connection and Adept shows ffffffff. What is the problem and can it be fixed?
Thanks!

Hi @attila
I have 1V0 and 3V3 on my AD2, but no EN signal, and no AVCC1V8 either.
I conducted the flying line as shown in the picture according to this post, and the following error occurred.

Hi @Leo_W
The device may be damaged by high USB voltage or shorting external supply to device GND...
If under warranty, contact the support.digilent @ ni.com specifying the Date of Purchase, Seller and Purchase Order/ Web order Number. If not, see the following for troubleshooting/repair:
It may be only the following switch damaged:
But it could be more:
I measured the voltage and found that the voltage of this device is abnormal. If I want to replace it, may I ask what model it is?
I cannot test IC20. I will try to see if the device can be used normally after by passing it.

Hi @Leo_W
It could be a powering or contact issue.
Try using other USB port, cable, powered hub or 5VDC aux supply for the device.I tried to use an external 5V power supply, but it still showed no clock. And the output voltage seemed abnormal. I chose to output 3v voltage, but the actual voltage I got was only 2V.

The device on the AD2 board has no number. I cannot correspond to the schematic diagram. I may only be eliminated by one by one
