  1. Hello, I am using my Analog Discovery 2 for generating FM sweeps which is working well for my application and I have also separately experimented with AM modulation on the 2nd channel, but it doesn't seem possible to AM modulate my FM sweep? But I wanted to ask to confirm. Thank you Sean
  2. Hi Attila, Thank you for the information. That makes sense what you say regarding the difficulty in parsing a long log file. Would these log files be stored on my ADP3450 or can they be stored remotely if the ADP3450 is on the network? That is a good point you make regarding the use of the Logic Analyzer and triggering on the event or outcome. Thank you
  3. Hello, I just purchased an ADP3450 module. I am currently trying to troubleshoot and isolate a somewhat rare I2C communications event in an embedded system and am hoping to use the ADP3450 to resolve the issue. I read some about the ADP3450's protocol analyzer "serial spying" capability. Will it be possible for me to log several hours worth of decoded I2C serial data using the ADP3450 to try and troubleshoot my system? thank you
  4. The discrepancy may actually be caused by differing test conditions between how the admittance curves were measured. I believe the datasheet measures admittance with the transducer submerged in water whereas I attempted to measure it in air. I'll try to measure admittance curves with the transducer in water and see how those results compare.
  5. Hello, I am trying to measure the conductance & susceptance of a piezo transducer using my Analog Discovery 2 module. Below are the conductance & susceptance plots from the transducer's datasheet. I have attempted to recreate these measurements and pasted the results below as well. There are definitely some similarities in the measured admittance v.s. the admittance shown in the datasheet. But I noticed that the peak conductance measured by the Analog Discovery 2 is around 50mS, whereas in the part's datasheet the peak conductance appears to be around 5mS. So I am trying to understand what could account for the factor of 10? I have experimented with several measurement configurations on the Analog Discovery 2 module but I have not been able to resolve the issue. I appreciate any suggestions
  6. Thank you very much. Your suggestion is working very well and producing the amplitude swing above ground with my sweeps. Sean
  7. Hello, I have configured my Analog Discovery 2 device to generate a continuous sinusoidal FM sweep spanning a set amount of time followed by a fixed delay time where I want the output to be at ground, then the pattern repeats. I have the 'idle' control set to 'offset' and the 'offset' value is set to 0V. However the sweep then extends both positive and negative with respect to ground in this configuration. For my application however, I only want a positive voltage sweep with the signal returning to ground during the delay time. I have experimented with adding an offset voltage to make the sweep be a positive value. This however then creates a problem with the 'idle' voltage during the delay, which stays at a fixed positive voltage instead of being at ground. Aside from adding a DC block capacitor in hardware, I don't know how to resolve this via a configuration setting for my Analog Discovery 2 unit. I appreciate any suggestions. Thank you Sean
  8. Thank you very much, the screenshots are very helpful. My problem ended up being that I did not have have the drop down menu set on 'adapter' so the relays were not functioning. Once I selected 'adapter' the relays would function properly as I selected between different resistance values. Are the other options in the same drop down menu used for manual configuration without the impedance board connected? Thank you Sean
  9. Hello, I have recently purchased an Analog Discovery 2 along with the Impedance Analyzer board. I have been attempting to make inductance measurements on known inductance values to gain experience with the hardware and Waveforms software. I have been using the resource material link at https://reference.digilentinc.com/add-ons/impedance-analyzer/reference-manual. However I am having some trouble getting believable results for inductance values in the 10uH range. I have tried all possible combinations of the DUT and fixed resistor orientation. I am using the recommended 1kOhm fixed resistance value but have also tried all the other combinations. I have been able to get believable readings when attempting to measure known capacitance values but unfortunately I haven't had much success measuring inductance values. I appreciate any suggestions or additional reading material. thank you Sean
  10. Hello, I just recently purchased an Analog Discovery 2 and would like to experiment with controlling it's ARB generator capability using Python running on a Beaglebone Black with Ubuntu 20.0.4 installed. I have read that the Waveforms SDK is compatible with the Beaglebone Black. I did find a tutorial for installing the Waveforms SDK on a Raspberry Pi 4. Would the installation procedure be similar for the Beaglebone Black? Thank you Sean
