CTR08-Unusual behavior when counter type set to Timer

Question

Posted

I have set up channel 2 for Timing and get an error message if the measurement units is set to 'Microseconds'. It works only if I set the measurement units to 'Ticks'. I am not exiting the program at any time during this change. What puzzles me the most is that this worked for weeks in the past without any issue. Is there an explanation for this?

Seconds should work. Tie the Counter to a Digital Meter. Set the Digital Meter Options->Digits to 12 and the number of decimal places to 8. Stretch the Digital Meter to show all the digits. Otherwise, you might get #####.### indicating a problem. I used a couple of Counter Output timers as test signals and could measure 0.00036490 or 364.9us. You could also use the Scale module to multiply by 1,000,000 to convert it to microseconds.
