Question

Dear All,

I'm using the Analog Discovery 2 oscilloscope on channels 1 or 2 to measure voltage. The voltage range varies from 0.9 V to 1 V. High resolution in these measurements is very important for my work. Specifically, I need to detect a difference of just 10 µV between measured voltages.

As I understand it, channels 1 and 2 of the Analog Discovery's ADC have a 14-bit resolution, which allows measurement of input voltages from -2.5 V to 2.5 V. can I set this range smaller?

Hi @moosavys1

Not directly since AD2 resolution in low range is about 0.3mV
Average measurement should give higher resolution specially if the signal is nosy.
Newer devices (AD3, ADP2330, ADP3X50) store 16bit samples which may improve the capture at lower rates.
These also have 'DSP' filter options and 'Full scale' sampling mode which may further improve the effective resolution at narrower ranges.
