Manually Editing CB.CFG

Question

I am having an issue with CB.CFG when usinf InstaCal. When I try to add a divice InstaCal gives an error "Unable to Write to CB.CFG file, make sure you are logged in as administrator. I have admin rights on the computer and am able to open the file in an edditor. How do I modify CB.CFG so that I can add a device?

Hello @gpengel.

Which version of Windows OS and InstaCal are you using?  If using Windows 10 or 11, download and install the current version of InstaCal.

Which device are you attempting to have InstaCal detect?

Only one cb.cfg file should reside on a system and it should be located in the (hidden) 'C:\ProgramData\Measurement Computing\DAQ' directory.  Also, this file is not meant to be modified by a user; only by InstaCal.

Are you the only user account on that system or is it managed by your IT Admin?
