DASYLab not showing MCC USB-Device - Help Needed

Jimsky123

Question

Hello, I'm trying to get my new MC USB-2416-4AO working with DASYLab, but I just cannot get it to show the device ... but it sort of works!

  1. Installed mccdaq software without a hitch - this includes the Universal Library that DASYLab needs
  2. InstaCal (V6.74) works perfectly and picks up the board in device manager - all good
  3. Installed DASYLab 2014 Evaluation Version with the Measurement Computing Package
  4. Open DASYLab and under Input/Output the MCC-DRV modules are there but ..... if I drag over an Analogue input from there and try to set up a channel it is devoid of options to configure (just Volts - no thermocouple inputs or anything) - but it does know the name of device
  5. I do notice that under MEASUREMENT - SELECT DRIVER, it shows (None), and if I try to approach it by another route I am told (None) run InstaCal. If I leave the sound card as a option in the DASYLab configuration - it shows up OK.
  6. Question:
    1. Should the MCC USB-2416-4AO be showing up under device? It feels like it should.

Additionally I have reinstalled everything in different orders, and done so with administrator privilages .... but just don't seem to get to where I need to be. Computer is Windows 10. I did see something on the forum saying that some versions of InstaCal caused problems for the MCC DASYLab Package but the solution was not accessible.

All help gratefully received,

Jim

Ahhh - I just found this from a Mr Butler from some years ago who seems expert:

"The USB-2416 series is a bit different than other MCC DAQ devices -- you configure it in instaCal for voltage or temperature. You also configure the data rate, which in turn determines the maximum sample rate that DASYLab can read the device"

Last time I used DasyLab was Version 8 on an IO DataShuttle and all was done from the DASYLab interface.

If anyone can confirm that I sort out the TC channels within InstaCal that would be great.

Thanks, Jim
