DASYLab - ICom module for TCP/IP remote communications

jose_ignacio

Question

Hi everyone,

I need to establish a communication link in between a TCP/IP server executed in a remote machine and my local machine, which is using DASYLab. The server is already working for other clients using the TCP transport protocol.

I am trying to use the ICom input module but had no success so far. For some hours now, I tried searching for documentation related to this issue but found nothing so far. Is this even possible? Is there any example or detailed documentation about the ICom input/output modules?

Thanks in advance and best regards,
José

Hi @Fausto,

Thanks for the quick response. Also, thanks for pointing me out that there's further documentation in the DASYLab help, as I only searched in the Internet. I'll read it carefully.

If you're OK with it, I'll try to learn from all the related documentation and, shall I have further problems, reply back in this thread.

Thanks again,
José

Hi again @Fausto,

So I looked in the help contents that you suggested and now I succeeded in sending TCP/IP requests to the remote server. A request is sent periodically from the DASYLab instance to the remote server and the remote server responds back (for the first test, the server just responds echoing the request string "Hello world"). I attached the configuration in case it is useful.

My only question would be then: in this case, the ICOM input should receive that echoed "Hello world" string, but how can I see that input string value so I make sure that it is working?

Sorry if the question is too basic. This is all new to me.
