Basic circuit with DPDT. Need help

Dear Forum Members,

I’m new to electronics and am seeking to build a foundational understanding of various components.

I’m currently working on a circuit where I aim to light up an LED by closing a switch labeled "S1." In this circuit, the LED is connected through a DPDT switch. I’m having some difficulty with this setup and would appreciate any guidance or suggestions you can provide.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi @Adam S

This forum is mostly for Multisim Live, eg https://multisim.com, Digilent's web-based version of the Multisim tool. You might find more luck for questions about Multisim Desktop over on the NI forum: Multisim and Ultiboard - NI Community.

That said, as far as I'm aware, this component should be largely the same in both tools. There's a description of it here: https://www.multisim.com/help/components/voltage-controlled-spdt/, with some more info on a similar component here: https://www.multisim.com/help/components/voltage-controlled-spst/. I believe when these help files refer to the "control voltage", they're referring to the voltage difference between the + and - pins on the bottom of the schematic symbol.

Hope this helps,

Arthur
