Waveforms- Device Opening Failed (Analog Discovery 3)

Analog Discovery 3 does not want to connect with Waveforms. It was working normally and then it just stopped and it says that device opening failed. Waveform and my computer detects the device but it fails to open it. I tried unistalling and installing again, restarting my computer, trying a different computer, using device manager to register, changing usb ports, adding adept and nothing happens.

Can someone help?? I need this for my college course!

The error code indicates different device fpga id.
Are you sure it is an AD3 and not an AD1 or AD2 accidentally reprogrammed to report as AD3 ?
This can be re-programmed here, select the correct product.

I bought directly from my college store, so I believe it really is an AD3. 
I tried all the options when I try to program the AD, but they all gave me the same result.

This is an AD3, probably with some fault.
The latest version provides more information for such errors or you can connect to demo device and use the FPGA Utility Info button to list the ID codes.

@attila I went to the FPGA  utility and only one error pops up. It doesn’t say anything else. Is there a way to fix the error?

The read FPGA ID code is different, 037C2093 instead of 037C4093, probably damaged.

Just for curiosity you could try to make the following change in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Digilent\Data\ jtscdvclist.txt line 662 

25    037C4093h    0FFFFFFFh
to
25    037C4093h    0FFF0FFFh

This should accept the ID code and try to program the FPGA.

I tried but it didn't work... I really don't know what happened. It was working fine I stopped using it for about an hour and then when I turned my computer on again it stopped working. Could it have gotten damage? 

 

i tried eveything on the forum again and nothing. Is there a way to verify if its damage.? I bought not long ago from the university.

For warranty and replacement contact the support.digilent @ ni.com specifying the Date of Purchase, Seller and Purchase Order/ Web order Number.
