How can I synchronize the Discovery 2 output channels in MATLAB? Or alternatively, determine the time difference between output channels using Waveforms?

The post I am referencing for this question is above. I have recorded data using the Discovery 2 device in MATLAB with channel 1 outputting my signal and channel 2 outputting the signal to be used in triggering another device. My triggered device shows time shifts in recordings which is due to the Discovery 2 channels not being synchronized. From the post above it appears that there is not much known on how to synchronize the channels using MATLAB. Is is possible to instead determine the default time delay between the channels either in MATLAB or in Waveforms using the recorded data sets?

Hi @Brianna Miranda,

I apologize for the delay.

My understanding, is with the default settings that the two output channels can have various phase outputs every time you stop and restart the analog output generator, so there is no real default time delay to present.

If you are working in MATLAB and want the outputs to be synchronized, what I would probably do (since I don't think this functionality is present in the MATLAB offering), would be to call the WaveForms API commands to get the two output channels in sync similar to how it is done in AnalogOut_Sync.py (included with the WaveForms installation).

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
JColvin
