Instacal Loop Back Test not performing correctly for analog outputs (USB-1808X)

Davin Norgard

Question

Hello, I'm very new to DAQ and I'm having trouble with analog outputs from the MCC.

I'm trying to develop a prototype for a small company, they had a USB-1808X from a different project they were working on several years ago. I downloaded Instacal and updated the firmware from version 1.00 to 1.03. I have been playing with the loop back tests but I can't seem to get a sawtooth wave for either analog output (AOUT0 and AOUT1), However, I do get a square wave for the digital output. Additionally, I have measured the voltage with a multimeter and don't see any voltage changes on the analog outputs.

Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening? I fear the analog outputs got broken in their previous project, but I'm not sure!

Hello @Davin Norgard.

Please verify your wire connections are secured in the correct screw terminals.

Your data display should be similiar to mine below.

I used InstaCal v6.74.  If you continue to have an issue with the analog output channels, then the next step would be to setup a repair RMA.  Send me a private message with your device's serial number as shown in InstaCal?

Regards,

Fausto
