My MCC128 and pi are working well as a data acquisition system, but I would like robust motor control abilities that I can synchronize with the DAQ as well. I am currently collecting data from a load cell and linear potentiometer to plot force vs displacement. I am piggybacking my DAQ off another test rig, but I want my DAQ to work as a standalone system. What this means is that I want to control a linear actuator based on the displacement data collected by the linear pot.
Has anyone explored communicating between the DAQ hat system and a PLC? Is this possible? If so, I would appreciate being pointed towards some resources to achieve this.
