Analog Discovery 2 Digital I/O signals

Hello there!

I'm fairly new to this stuff, so I don't know that well yet. I wanted to know what the digital I/O signals are used for. I couldn't find anything useful on the internet. I want to build a case for this device and use it as an oscilloscope with Arduino.

There you will see the specifications, which list the digital IO features and use:

 

There should be plenty of information on the Internet about using digital IO to control LEDs, buttons and switches. Likewise for topics like "what are logic analyzers?" and "what are digital pattern generators?".
