Pcam5c configuration for 480p 60 fps

Question

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to create my own Pcam 5c project on Zybo Z20. My goal is to obtain 640x480 images at 60 fps.

When I try to configure the OV5640 in this way, I always have errors like SoT, ECC, CRC... in MIPI CSI-2 Rx susbsytem. So I think I don't configure the OV5640 properly.

The configuration is attached.config_ov5640

Is someone doing something like I want to do ? Do anyone has a configuartion for that ?

There is a lot of register toconfigure the OV5640 and I am a little bit confused, please help me.

Thank you for your help

Hi,

I finally managed to find a configuration for Pclk =18 MHz and line rate = 147 Mbps to obtain 640x480@60Hz RGB444.

Here is the result of the ila at the MIPI CSI-2 Rx subsystem's output :

There is a tuser :

And a tlast :

But tdata is weird :

Here are the MIPI CSI-2 Rx registers :

Anyone has a idea of what is going wrong ?

Thank you very much for your help

There are several things that can go wrong and the sensor datasheet is indeed less than helpful. You seem to be having CRC error and framing error in the status register. Also the number of long packets is wrong, 0xCCB = 3275. It is definitely a config issue.

We don't provide VGA resolution configuration, nor a demo project with the CSI-2 IP. I would first make sure that a known good resolution config works with the Xilinx subsystem IP and then try lowering the frame and window sizes but compensating with blanking so that timings are not affected.
