anm
Hi, I have a Genesys 2 board. I would like to know if it is possible to remove the cooler that sits on top of the FPGA chip. The fan is easily removable by unscrewing it, but what about the cooler itself? Could you please advise? Thank you in advance for your response and time. Kind regards, anm Edited March 15, 2022 by anm
0 JColvin
Hi @anm, I don't know why you would want to remove the cooler/fan setup, but it should just be a pair of clips that will need to be carefully unhooked; the top side is probably also has some thermal tape securing the heatsink clip as well. You can find some basic instructions on how you remove it from the hardware errata of the Genesys ZU reference manual here: https://digilent.com/reference/programmable-logic/genesys-zu/reference-manual#workaround. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, JColvin
