  1. This product is NOT capable of doing what it was claimed to do. The MCC USB-2408-2AO The claim is that it is compatible with the software from National Instruments (NI) Labview, has 8 analog input channels and 2 analog output channels. First, you have to download the ULx for NI Labview and the InstaCal software, both from MCC (Measurement Computing Corp.) so that you can use portions of the functions of Labview . After weeks of attempts with a highly qualified electronic engineer (colleague), I still could not see the ULx library in Labview, so I could not use the DAQ. MCC does not have phone in tech support, just a forum. This is really crappy. So, after much back and forth and waiting for a response from the forum, I was told that the "ULx.mnu file needed to be downloaded into the specific folders inside NI Labview. I was given a link to the missing file on the forum. Then I found out that the USB-2408-2AO is NOT supported by NI-MAX, NI-DAQmx, NI DAQExpress. This means that it is not compatible with any parts of the Labview software that control the DAQ. I was able to get the device working with analog input signals only, but I cannot get InstaCal to detect the output channels and so cannot use this DAQ for the intended use, with a PID control loop.
  2. This product is absolute crap, do not buy the MCC USB-2408-2AO. The claim is that it is compatible with NI Labview, lol. First, you have to download the ULx for NI Labview and the InstaCal software. Then, I still could not see the the ULx library in Labview, so could not use the DAQ, so after much back and forth and waiting for a response from the forum, I was told that the "ULx.mnu file needed to be downloaded into the specific folders. I was lucky to find this file. oh, by the way, the USB-2408-2AO is not supported by NI-MAX, NI-DAQmx, NIDAQExpress, surprise? Now I cannot get InstaCal to detect the output channels and so cannot use this DAQ for the intended use. I am now returning this device and will make sure that I tell everyone that I come in contact with to not use MCC devices. NO technical support, yeah, that is crappy.
  3. I have been able to get my DAQ-2408-2AO working and can measure thermocouple inputs in a labview VI, but I can only see the analog input channels both in both InstCal and Labview. So I cannot configure my output channels in InstaCal so I can create a PID in Labview. Why is there not an analog output channel tab?
  4. The device was detected in InstaCal and configuration done. Then InstaCal was closed.
  5. So we added the menu and can see the ULx in Labview. The issue is we cannot see any physical channels on the "create channel VI". For example, we do not see dev1/aio on the pull down menu in the browsing window so we cannot add any channels and cannot read the DAQ.
  6. We already figured the DAQ didn’t work with MAX or Daqmx and never will (after self discovery for a few days), the ULx library vi’s are the only way to use this DAQ in labview. The question that needs to be answered is why ULx isn’t appearing in the user libraries within Labview.
  7. Thanks for the answer, however I did exactly what you said to do which is what was in the manual for the USB2408. Labview 2023 Q3 was already loaded, then I downloaded InstaCal and ULx for Labview 2023 64-bit (v 2.29), I then plugged in the DAQ device, ran InstaCal, closed instaCal, then opened Labview and looked in the libraries and the ULx was not there. Don't you think that the user/purchaser should know about the fact that MCC daq devices like the USB-2408 are not supported by NI-MAX, NI-DAQmx nor NI DAQExpress ? I would not have purchased this device if I had known. I also was very frustrated not having tech support via phone. I will read your links now, maybe that explains it and I can proceed.
  8. Hello, I have purchased the USB-2408-2AO, and could not get it to be detected in NI Max or Labview 2023. It was detected in InstaCal only. I downloaded the InstaCal, and ULx for Labview (tried 2023, 2024, CD version) but still could not get the DAQ to be detected in NIMax or Labview. In fact the ULx was not detected in Labview 2023 Q3. I was very disappointed. I was running Windows 11 and from what I can read the USB-2408-2AO is compatible with Windows 11. From what I can read, the ULx is still not compatible with Labview 2023 or Windows 11. Can anyone help. I have resorted to wiping my computer, loading Windows 10 and Labview 2022.
