ErikH reacted to Fausto in How to configure DASYLab to use the NI-DAQmx module
    Hello @Matt Herhold.
DASYLab uses the NI-DAQmx driver to communicate with NI hardware.  You should install the appropriate NI-DAQmx drivers from National Instruments before you use a NI hardware with DASYLab.

The screen capture below shows a NI USB-6008 module used for this test.

Configure your hardware and measurement tasks using NI Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX).

A user must create a task for the NI device in NI-MAX before using DASYLab.  The task defines the measurement parameter - the device, the channels, the channel configuration, optional scaling, and the Measurement sample rate and block size (samples to read).

Once you have created and tested the task, you can create the corresponding NI-DAQmx input or output module in DASYLab.  Each DASYLab module can link to one task.

Close NI MAX.  If you have not already installed DASYLab, then do so at this point.  During the installation, the DASYLab Configurator will open.  If DASYLab is already installed, then open the DASYLab Configurator.  Click on the Packages tab and expand the Data Acquisition package.  Enable the NI-DAQmx package and then click the OK button to close the Configurator.

The NI-DAQmx driver package creates a new NI branch in DASYLab's Module list, Inputs/Outputs - NI - NI-DAQmx (input and output modules).

Drag-n-drop a module onto the worksheet.  Select the Task created in NI MAX to configure the module.  Continue creating the rest of your DASYLab worksheet.

The DASYLab Help for the NI-DAQmx driver includes getting started as well as valuable information for how to configure the modules.

    Regards,
    Fausto
