I asked the engineer most familiar with our JTAG line about this and they let me know that the maximum length of that string is different between the FT2232H and FT232H, so some Digilent devices have the longer more descriptive string and others have the shorter one ("Digilent USB Device").
Regardless, they confirmed to me that this string value on the JTAG-HS2 has never been changed, so the value of "Digilent USB Device" you are seeing on your system (and what I confirmed to see on my own JTAG-HS2) is accurate.
