  1. It is a full on JTAG/TRACE probe (Greenhills). Trying to use the probe for TRACE debugging (not necessarily programming of the FPGA) using the FMC to capture the TRACE output. The FMC105 is a very passive card which routes FMC_TCK (D29), FMC_TDI (D30), FMC_TDO (D31), and FMC_TMS (D33) to a pin header (J5). I have confirmed with a scope that the FMC_TDO line is a constant high (except when bridged to FMC_TDI obviously), which matches what the probe detects. If I jumper the probe JTAG to the onboard JTAG connector it detects at very low speeds, but the length is excessive.
  2. Yes, I had found that topic prior. When using the PROG UART connection it does require the jumper between the TDO and TDI lines on the FMC for the onboard JTAG chain to be functional as described. The situation I have is the case where there is a device installed on the FMC chain. I have a JTAG probe plugged in on the FMC JTAG connector (not on the PROG UART connection) and the connection does not appear to function. I have tried both a Xilinx probe and a GHS probe and both fail to function from the FMC connector. The connection of FMC_TDO through R303 to JTAG_TDO does not make sense to me. From the JTAG SCAN CHAIN I would expect the FMC output to go to the FTDI input not to the JTAG header output. My assumption is that the FTDI input is described on the omitted schematic page. Is FMC_TDO connected to FTDI_TDI ?
  3. Using a Genesys ZU board with a Xilinx FMC-105 board, I am attempting to connect a JTAG/TRACE probe using the JTAG header on the FMC. The probe reports TDO appears always high. I confirmed that the JTAG header on board (J28) works with a Xilinx probe, but does not work from the FMC. Examining the schematics I noticed that FMC_TDO is tied to JTAG_TDO and FPGA_TDI is tied to JTAG_TDI. That seems wrong to me. I was expecting that the FMC_TDO would go to the FTDI/USB TDI. I know the schematic page is omitted because of licensing issues, but can you confirm that the JTAG chain is functional from the FMC side.
